When should I order my announcements? It's never to early to start the design process for your birth announcements. Once we have finalized your design, plan on 3 - 4 weeks for production.  It is commonly recommended that you mail announcements no later than 6 weeks after the birth. So, as you can see, planning ahead can be a wise move! - back to top - What should I know about mailing my announcements? Before addressing envelopes be sure to verify addresses any questionable zip codes. You may even want to to take an announcement to the post office to determine the proper postage. No.   You are responsible for all spelling, grammar, and punctuation. That is why we recommend having another person look over your proof before approval. - back to top - How do I address a dark colored envelope? To address a dark colored envelope by hand, you'll need to use a lighter color ink such as matte white.   Metallic inks seem to pose a problem for post office automated machinery.  You could hire a professional calligrapher or DIY with a good quality pen.  We do offer Colorscope mailing labels, which add a fun and colorful dimension to your envelopes (see pricing for more details).  But keep in mind, you should never address your envelopes using printer-generated labels, a hand-addressed envelope is always perferrable. - back to top - Can I order extra envelopes? Yes. Although, you probably don't need to . . . we provide approximately 10% extra envelopes with every announcement order. If you feel that you will need more than that, please let us know when placing your order. There may be an additional cost depending on the quantity. - back to top - Does the pricing include shipping & handling? No. Shipping costs will be added to your final total once the announcements are completed, packed, and weighed. We do NOT charge handling fees and your shipping costs are based on weight and distance. We only ship via UPS - with exception of thank you notes and fill-ins which ship via USPS Priority Mail.
